The arrangement of ideas in groups of three is natural and universal, but nowhere did triads reach the same level of accpmplishment or popularity as in Ireland, where their manufacture seems to have become almost a sport.

This selection dates principally frim the ninth century and presents a fascinating picture of irish mores and morals at that time.

Alternatively, they may be enjoyed purely for their timeless and often hilarious insights into the human condition.
