The New Housing 2, published by the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland,intends to show best practice in housing and mixed-use development through schemes which are planned, under construction or completed.

It follows the full range of urban planning, from villages and small towns, through the extension of towns and cities, to regeneration of existing towns and cities. The publication features four essays covering different aspects of the current situation in Ireland; the projects are then grouped into four sections - villages and small towns, the urban fringe, urban infill and regeneration, and a special section on the regeneration of Ballymun.
