One thousand six hundred years ago a young boy was brought to Ireland as a slave. He spent many lonely years herding pigs and sheep on Slieve Mish, before escaping, with the intention of returning to bring Christianity to Ireland. Patricius was the name of that boy, or Saint Patrick.
