BOOKS.IE must receive payment for the complete order of books and shipping, before your order can be accepted, and the contract formed. Payment is taken when the order is processed by you.

BOOKS.IE will email confirmation that your order has been received to your listed email off your member profile. We will confirm your name, delivery address, order number and the total price.

BOOKS.IE acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us on these terms. A member may not change any part of the contract at this point.

Any books on the same order from you but not listed on the confirmation email do not form part of this contract. Books where delivery is delayed or where books are now no longer available will be confirmed on a separate email.

BOOKS AT INCORRECT PRICE OR STOCK UNAVAILABLE

BOOKS.IE will endeavour to have up to date and accurate information on the site about the price and stock availability of all titles in the catalogue. This information may not always be correct due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

BOOKS.IE reserves the right to withdraw from any contract in the case of unforeseen errors or inaccuracies regarding the books appearing on our website. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the advertised price of the goods that you have ordered, we will email you with this information as soon as possible. This will be to inform you of the correct price of the book and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or with new edition, or to cancel the order altogether.

Should any book be unavailable, you will be refunded as soon as possible but not later than twenty working days of your original purchase

DELIVERY

BOOKS.IE will use a courier or postal service on your behalf to deliver the books to the address listed on your member profile

Once your order has been accepted, Books.ie will endeavour to get the books to you as soon as possible

Once we have dispatched your book product, you will become the owner of the goods

Once your parcel has left our building the parcel will become your property

MONEY BACK GUARANTEE FOR MEMBERS (DOES NOT APPLY TO TRADE MEMBERS)

We want our members to be satisfied with their book purchases from BOOKS.IE. No reason needs to be given for returning your purchase.

RETURNS

To enable you to return or to cancel your purchase you will need to adhere to the following procedure:

You may return any purchase within twenty working days of placing your order. After this period BOOKS.IE reserves the right to refuse acceptance of your return or to refund your account for the return.

Should you wish to cancel your purchase prior to receiving the purchase, you must notify us as soon as possible using the contact us form.

Should the order not have been despatched by us, then we will refund you as soon as possible.

Should the order have already been processed by us and already be in transit to you, we will send you a returns authorisation number to allow you to return the parcel once you receive it.

Do not open the parcel but re-label it with our address (which you will find on the parcel).

Returning the parcel is at your own cost and risk. Do not simply write Return to Sender, as the return freight cost needs to be covered by you.

Should you wish to cancel your purchase after receiving the purchase, you need to inform us using the contact us form.

We will then supply you with a returns authorisation number to allow you to return the parcel.

The parcel needs to be repacked carefully and securely, keeping in mind that any parcel damaged in transit resulting in the book product being damaged will mean you will not receive a refund

Returning the parcel is at your own cost and risk.

BOOKS.IE will deem the parcel returned only once it has arrived back in our warehouse and all the above procedures have been adhered to.

Books returned damaged, used, marked, bent spine, soiled, or not in the condition in which it was supplied, will not result in a return credit refund on your account

BOOKS.IE will only pass a credit refund on your account once the procedure above has been followed

Liabilities on Delivery

Should your purchase include a damaged or incorrect book, you need to inform us with clear and full details using the contact us form. You will need to inform us within ten days of receipt of the goods

Should your ordered books not arrive within 30 days of the order being placed you will need to inform us of this using the contact us.  BOOKS.IE shall have no liability unless we are informed via the contact us form and within the time frame.

BOOKS.IE shall have no liability to you on goods not received, short supplied, received damaged, unless you have notified us of the problem in writing via the contact us form and within the stipulated time frames.

BOOKS.IE will not be liable to you for any indirect, consequential loss or damage to your goods, Force Majeure, either in transit to you or in transit back to BOOKS.IE, or due to circumstances beyond Books.ie’s control.

Should  there be a problem and the above procedures have been followed, BOOKS.IE will make good any shortage, or non-delivery. BOOKS.IE reserves the right to use one or more of the following actions, in order to solve the problem:

Make an attempt to track the order with the courier

Replace defective, damaged books at BOOKS.IE expense

Refund to you the original amount paid via the original method of payment

CUSTOMS AND VALUE ADDED TAX

BOOKS.IE is obligated, by laws governing member countries of the European Union, to charge a Value Added Tax (VAT) on books sold into countries within the European Union (EU). VAT is charged in accordance with the local legislation in each member state.

Should you be purchasing from within another European country where VAT is applicable to book product purchases this amount will be displayed in checkout once we know the destination of the goods.

E-COMMUNICATION

All communication between you the member and the staff at BOOKS.IE will happen electronically via email or by posting on the BOOKS.IE site. By entering a contract with us to be a member on the site and to purchase book product from us, you consent to receive communications from us electronically and you agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you via your member’s registered email address will satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland and the courts of Ireland shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between you and BOOKS.IE
