The Foyle system, the great waterway running through the city of Derry to the sea, is made up of 900 miles of rivers and streams draining almost all of western Ulster. In the east the Foyle system begins with streams running into the River Strule which flows through Omagh. It joins the Owenkillew and the Glenelly at Newtownstewart to form the Mourne before meeting the River Finn which rises in the far west of Donegal at Strabane; a meeting of the waters that produces the main River Foyle.

In Following the Foyle writer Ken McCormack and artist Pat Cowley embark on a journey to discover the intricate and intimate relationships between river and landscape, river and people. Stop with them along the way as Ken shares with you his unique insights on the history and stories of this marvellous river while Pat brings his keen artist's eye to bear on the wonderful scenery all around.
