A night of drinking by a group of "lads" that soon degenerates into an episode of queer-bashing.

The gorup of men are all crippled one way or another, looking to drink to enlarge their horizons.

They bait a wretched middle-aged homosexual whose values are far finer than anything they can envisage, and thinking they have killed him face a bleak dawn of self examination.

His "resurrection" provides the ironic jolt essential to the play's success.
