One piece is completely new, while others have appeared in rare and learned periodicals no longer obtainable.
Broadly bounded by Dublin and Trinity College, this gathering illuminates a wide range of human experience, from the glitter and gossip of life in Dublin Castle to the activities of the United Irishmen during the 1790s and the flux of social life in Ireland during the 19th and 20th centuries. The biographical and political sketches are written with humour and a precise eye for individual foibles and idiosyncrasy.
