Leslie Porter was Ireland's pioneer racing driver when he competed in the Paris to Madrid motor race of 1903. Several years later he returned to motor racing in the famous Tourist Trophy 'Four-Inch' race.

With the onset of the Great War he joined the Royal Flying Corps and was tragically lost in 1916.
