Since his childhood in war-torn Britain and Ireland, Hugh Weir has increased his orbit of travels from inter-island boat and train journeys to and from school, to pleasurable road trips, each of up to twelve thousand kilometers to mainly European destinations.

The author shows his interest in the local people, their folkways and historic buildings. Hugh is also an accomplished photographer and a pen and ink artist.
