This photographic essay by Nicolas Féve is a response to Tim Robinson's work on Connemara. The book includes an introduction by John Elder discussing both Robinson's work and Feve's photographic response. The book also features three new previously unpublished essays by Tim Robinson.
'When Jane Conroy conceived this book it was as a photographic exploration by Nicolas Fève of ideas and places mentioned in my Connemara trilogy. Since then it has evolved through collaboration. Its nucleus of excerpts from my writings and Nicolas's photograohs now support his meditationson the materiality of the photograph in itself, and the comradeship and sibling rivalry of text and image, both born of the urge to representation. And to counterbalance John Elder's welcoming introduction I have indicated in a brief addendum a possible escape route from Connemara'
