Wexford is a town of great character and individuality. It has been in existence for 1,000 years, and this new publication, researched and written by Jarlath Glynn, explores that vibrant history. This is done through contrasting forty-five archive images with full modern photographs taken by Pádraig Grant.
This book concentrates on the physical environment, the buildings and streetscapes of the town. Most of the original black-and-white photographs date from around 1900, though some are from even earlier times. The subject matter of the photographs dates from the medieval to the present day, and were chosen to reflect the varied and diverse aspects of the history of the town.
This book will be of great interest to all who know the town as well as providing a vital record of the changing face of Wexford.
