Throughout Michael Harding’s life there was a sense of emptiness, a pervading darkness and unease. At the age of fifty-eight he became physically ill and in the grip of a deep depression. Harding talks with frankness and honesty about his life journey, through the priesthood which he left in his thirties, settling in Leitrim with his wife, and the depression that eventually overwhelmed him. Ultimately, he found his way out of the foreboding darkness by accepting the fragility of love and the importance of living in the now.
