This entertaining book tells of a makeup artist's early years working in Ardmore Studios, her involvement in the setting up of the technicians’ film union and its structures, followed by her film work in Ireland and on locations worldwide, including India, Israel and the USA.

Dublin-born film make-up artist Toni Delany entered the then almost non- existent Irish film industry in the early 1960s at a time of great change due to the advent of national TV, Telefi?s E?ireann. This entertaining book tells of her early years working in Ardmore Studios, her involvement in the setting up of the technicians’ film union and its structures, followed by her film work in Ireland and on locations worldwide, including India, Israel and the USA.

Toni writes about her experiences working with many famous people, from Fred Astaire, Sean Connery, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor to Pierce Brosnan, Siobhan McKenna, U2 and even C. J. Haughey! And there were many more. Her memoir is illustrated throughout by photographs from those film sets. After a successful career of more than 30 years in the film industry she was invited to design and teach the first HETAC- approved film make-up course in Ireland at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology (DLIADT), and now takes great delight hearing about the successes of her past students.
