This highly illustrated book tells the story of Donncha Ó Dúlaing's life, growing up in Cork, his going to work as a dental technician, later a trainee manager with Fords, going to UCC, joining RTÉ fifty years ago, coming to Dublin and becoming a major national broadcaster on Irish life, culture, music entertainment and current affairs, with listeners here and in many other countries.
His television and radio programmes and in particular his radio programmes 'Highways and Byways' and currently 'Fáilte Isteach' have captured generations of faithful listeners here and among the Irish overseas. The book recounts his interviews with President Eamon de Valera, Enda O'Brien, Rosie Hackett, Mick Jagger, Saint Pope John Paul II, Foster and Allen, P.J. Murrihy, Daniel O'Donnell and more.
