The story of the remarkable Tom Crean.

Tom Crean ran away to sea aged fifteen. He spent more time in the Antarctic than Scott or Shackleton, and was one of the few to serve and outlive both. His exploits, bravery and endurance were incredible.

He was one of the last to see Scott alive, only 150 miles from the South Pole, and he was in the search party that found his frozen body. He was also on Shackleton's Endurance expedition and in an extraordinary feat of survival, Crean sailed the violent Southern Ocean in an open boat to rescue his stranded comrades 800 miles away.

A riveting story that reads like a novel but a true story of a genuine unsung hero.
